Lights Out

A new TV drama series that focuses on a boxer who struggles financially to support his family after he retire from boxing due to a possible pugilistic dementia disorder. After watching the first 3 episode, I can’t see this series would last long on TV. Its like watching a TV series of Rocky movie but at this time it focuses more on daily life of a boxer rather on the ring. The acting and story telling are good, but it lacks sub-plots to make the series more interesting. The story focuses on Lights family only, which the series is all about but it could be interesting if it also shows Raynolds side of the story.

Pilot 1st episode synopsis
Patrick “Lights” Leary who loss the heavyweight title against Raymond Raynolds retires from boxing. After 5 years, financial troubles begins and Patricks struggles on how to support his family. His brother Johnny wants him to do a comeback rematch against Raynolds, to uplift their financial problems even he has signs of pugilistic dementia disorder.

2nd episode synopsis
Patrick thinking the possibility doing a comeback, secretly went to the doctor to check his condition without letting her wife knows. Patrick also told his father that he is broke, Johnny continues to find ways to lift up their financial problems. Patrick did find a one time job as a debt collector, which he ends up breaking the arm of one of the person he’s collecting.

3rd episode synopsis
Its Patrick’s birthday, her daughters and wife are preparing for a surprise for him in a form of a scrap book album. Lights spend his birthday with his family and scanning the scrap book created by her daughters, he watched the outcome of the fight between Omar and Harris. Omar looses his opportunity cause he let his guard down when he thought Harris is going down. With Omar loosing the championship, the hope to save Leary Gym becomes dim.

No Ordinary Family

I got the chance to watch this show, from an ordinary family becomes extra-ordinary. During the pilot episode, it focuses on the Powell’s family having a vacation and turns out to be their worst vacation when the plane crashes on the Amazon River. They all did survived and they all gain super powers. Jim uses his powers to fight/stop crime, without realizing the his first encounter criminal is also extraordinary. Its not quite clear how did they acquire their powers and how the bad guys have powers also. For sure, there is a lot story to tell and I hope this wouldn't end up like Heroes. What comes into my mind in Jim's character is Bob Parr on movie The Incredibles.

On Naruto 511

Summary
A flashback was shown on how Jiraiya, Yahiko, Nagato and Konan during the times when Jiraiya teaches them to become splendid Ninjas. Madara successfully transplanted his eyes with Nagato’s Rinnegan and also have a new mask with a design combining ten-tailed beast and a sharingan eye. It seems that Kisame's shark successfully delivered the scroll to Zetsu about the location of Killerbee and Naruto, now Madara is ready to capture the nine tail beast in Naruto.

Interesting thoughts
When Zetsu says to Madara that he got a new set of eyes, he replied it was his to begin with. So it lead us to the following questions:

  • Does Madara have Rinnegan to start with
  • Does this mean the Uchicha clan also possess Rinnegan
  • Why does Madara cover his face? Is he using another body?
  • How did Madara survives the first ninja war with Hashirama?
  • How was he able to gain Hashirama powers/skills?

With Naruto learning the body flicker technique and able to control the nine tail fox will he be able to level up with Madara skills? The next chapter will be an interesting one.

Fate of Spartacus: Blood and Sand Season 2?

With Andy Whitefield leaving Spartacus due to his cancer and requires advance treatment, who will replace as Spartacus? Will there be still a season 2 for Spartacus? Its so sad for Andy Whitefield, I hope that his treatment will get him well. As a fan, I hope he has the fighting spirit against his illness.

The end is near

On 24 two more episodes left. Now that Jack knows that the Russian president is the one who ordered to take the hit on Renee Walker, what will he do? Is he out of control? Can Cole catch up with Jack trails? Now Kalya knows from Meredith that the Russians were responsible for Omar's death, will she tell her mother Dalya? One of the favorite part that I like on episode 22 is that when Jack put a bug in Logan's collar. Jack did the same thing on season 5 when exposing Charles Logan and he did it again. It just means that Jack was not careless in dealing the deceitful Charles Logan. I find it thrilling with the last two episodes left, considering Jack was wounded and the manhunt for him still continues. Cole is about to find Jim Recker hideout. Kalya will surely tell her mom Dalya about what Meredith told her. Meredith is in FBI custody. Dalya will be disappointed with President Taylor if she founds out that the U.S. is covering it up for the sake of the peace agreement.

With one remaining episode of FlashForward, I hope all the main plots will be answered. Question is will be the next blackout be stop? Will Mark Benford and Demetri Noh dies? Sad to say, there will be another season of this show. :-(

One more season to go for Smallville before the series end, hoping we see Clark Kent wearing Superman's costume to fulfill his destiny. Is Tess Mercer really dead? Who attack Green Arrow? What effect does Clark have when he stubs himself with a blue kryptonite dagger from Zod, so that Zod can ascend to the new planet? I wonder what will be the next project of Tom Welling and other casts of Smallville when the series ends. Lana Lang did land in Chuck for several episodes. ;-)

Tears of fears becomes tears of joy when the riff of the underworld was successfully closed by Richard Cypher and Kahlan Amnell. Richard was blinded and get trick by the Keeper in a form of a child which is the 3rd prophecy. However, the 2nd prophecy turned out to be true when Kahlan stub Richard in the heart when she was in condor mode. However, when Kahlan was out of condor mode, she felt sorry for killing Richard, good thing they have Kara to bring him back through the breath of life. Due to Kahlan and Richard love for each others, as teardrop falls from Kahlan's eyes to Richard chest, it form another stone of tears. It was a good ending but not as a series ender. If Jack Bauer (24) where to continue …

Three more remaining episodes left before 24 ends its current season. It seems Jack knows Charles Logan is the one behind the conspiracy and the one who set him up. What will Jack do? How will Cole react when he meets Jack? It seems this will be the last season of 24 and it will be the end of series. I just wish that 3 more remaining episodes will be a big bang.

If 24 has to continue where writers and producers can offer a different or more thrill season, I would like to suggest my following thoughts:

- Introduce another branch of CTU where they will be competing each other to gain position on who will spearhead all the branches of CTU.

- A back story or flashback on how the CTU was formed and its reason. This serves as an early story telling on how Jack Bauer was recruited and one of the person that recruits him will become the main antagonist.

- A conflict of interest of DEA, FBI, ATF and CIA with common goal but different ways on handling things.

- Of course additional set of agents that has equivalent experience with Jack.

Or these thoughts can be in a sequel or prequel movie of 24.

No more Legend Of The Seeker

There will be no more Season 3 or more after Season 2 - Stone of Tears. Its sad cause I enjoyed this show. I hope another TV network will saved this show like DirectTV and NBC agreement of Friday Night Lights. I'm not fan on reading books, I just found out that this show was based on Sword Of Truth by Terry GoodKind. This show could reach through 11 seasons if we based it on the novels by the author. One of the things that I'd like in this show is that when Cara (Tabrett Bethell) was part of the main cast in season 2 on helping Richard in its quest for the stone of tears.
